#IndiePrideDay is almost here! Between now and July 1st, I want to take this opportunity to feature some of the indie author’s I’ve read (and loved) since becoming one myself. Today’s feature: Matthew W. Harrill.
I can’t remember if Matt and I connected on Twitter or Facebook. He’s one of those people that you feel like you’ve always known, so the details of your first meeting fade quickly into the background. When I read the blurb for his horror novel, Hellbounce, it intrigued me right way. I’m a sucker for a good apocalypse, and that’s exactly what Matt delivers.
From my review of Hellbounce:
“Heaven & hell, angels & demons, car chases and tentacles—yes, I said tentacles—were depicted so well. I could fully visualize every chilling scene. The author has clearly done his research on biblical end times and I loved his take on demons. The scares and gore were wonderfully done. They were intense at times, but never once over the top or gratuitous. As Eva unravels the unnerving plot, you’re frightened right along with her.”
Matt has since become a part of the HMS Slushbrain, a small-knit, supportive and highly therapeutic writer’s group that I’m proud to be a part of. He will claim he once made me laugh so hard that I spit out my coffee-or was it wine? He will definitely remember if you ask him, but I will neither confirm nor deny that any spitting actually occurred! Matt is known for his unique takeovers at Facebook events where he proudly shows off his cover hacking skills. I was lucky to have been the target of one of those hacks when I released my last book, Magic-Borne. Just take a look at that talent...
Hellborne (Book 2) and Hellbeast (Book 3) are out now on Amazon. I haven’t had a chance to read the other two, but they are definitely on my TBR. If you enjoy a good apocalyptic horror novel, do yourself a favor and give the Arc Chronicles a try. You won’t be disappointed.
